Creating personal pieces of artwork is pretty awesome for showing the World what you create! Commercial work, can take longer to reach the final result and sometimes clients prefer you to refrain from sharing everything upfront. For me, I like creating new bits and bobs. It gives me a chance to experiment or try something new and some become poster prints which is a bonus! My next step is sharing it on Insta and I want to improve how I do this, so just as a starting point i'm looking at my hashtags.
The question with Instagram is how do you get more genuine followers and likes? It's all about those buzzwords, community and engagement. So what do you hashtag? Simply put lots of people say to search trends and hashtags that are relevant to what you're posting and see what's pulling the big numbers. Don't over do the amount of tags you use and many successful accounts use very little but I think being able to be that selective can only be achieved once you have a good solid base. Also looking at what other people within the same field as you are listing gives you an idea of what could potentially work.
Take these findings as just my insights so far, it's a work in progress and let see what happens! I couldn't find an arty list of common hashtags out there so i've made a one to share. Take it, use it and I hope it helps us all! Also I liked this article by Vogue on Instagram rules, happy reading!
